Song Analysis

I would have to say my favorite song is The Piano Man by Billy Joel. The song is about Billy Joel singing in a bar watching the people around him and what they really want to do with their lives. I like the song becuase of the tone, and the mood. Its somewhat sad and cuts to the core. I think the only thing about the lyrics that people wont like, is that it talks about alcohal.

  3. I love this song. The music has such a happy feel to it but the lyrics are pretty sad. The contrast makes it both unique and interesting. Good choice.

  4. "They sit at the bar and put bread in my jar and say 'Man, what are you doing here?'"

One of my favorite lines in all of music history. How many people do you know doing something 'below' what they could be doing? I've known a few...people who should be famous, or in politics, or doctors, but instead are doing something with much less prestige that they absolutely love instead. And why do they do it? Usually because they love it...these people amaze me.
